The meeting of the Cabinet Committee (CCS) called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence after the Pahalgam terror attack concluded this afternoon.
Along with the CCS meeting, two additional committee meetings – Cabinet Committee of Political Affairs (CCPA) and Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) – were convened at the Prime Minister’s residence. Cabinet briefing is scheduled at 3:00 pm today.
Security preparations were discussed in the second CCS meeting in view of the Pahalgam incident.
The last meeting of the Cabinet Committee of Security Affairs (CCS) was held on 23 April and was given detailed information about the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, killing 25 Indians and a Nepali citizens.
Earlier, the CCS condemned the attack in strong terms, expressed its deep condolences to the victim families and wished the injured to get well soon.
The information given to the CCS exposed the cross -border relations of the terrorist attack. It was noted that this attack has been in view of successful elections in the Union Territory and its continuous progress towards economic growth and development.
After this, the government announced a strong message to Pakistan to support Pakistan and announce several measures including postponing the Indus Water Treaty.
Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister Modi chaired a meeting in which Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan and the three army chiefs participated.
Sources said that Prime Minister Modi expressed full confidence and confidence in the professional capabilities of the Indian Armed Forces. Prime Minister Modi said that the Indian armed forces have complete freedom to take the way of India’s reaction, target and timely decision.
In the meeting chaired by Prime Minister Modi, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi and Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh attended.
