New Delhi. India has taken another major action on Pakistan. India has banned the import of any kind of goods from Pakistan with immediate effect. Any items coming from Pakistan whether it is directly imported or comes to India through a third country has been banned. This is a major setback for Pakistan economically. The Ministry of Commerce, Government of India amended the Foreign Trade Policy 2023 and this decision has been taken with immediate effect. The ban on imports from Pakistan has been added as a new provision.
Earlier, India had banned direct trade from Pakistan, but now any kind of trade has been banned. India imported dry fruits, cement, certain types of fruits, salt, copper etc. from Pakistan under direct trade. Although the import of these things was almost stopped after 2019 and only rock salt and multani soil are being imported in India, but now it has also been banned. After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India is taking strict action against Pakistan one after the other. Already, Pakistan is nervous due to the cancellation of the Indus River Water Treaty, now the ban on imports will cause major economic damage to Pakistan.
Earlier, India is also continuously doing digital strikes on Pakistan. The social media account of many leaders, cricketers and celebrities, including the Government of Pakistan’s social media X account, the official YouTube channel of Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif, the ex -account of Defense Minister Khwaja Asif, has been banned in India. YouTube channels of many media groups in Pakistan have also been blocked in India.
