Kalburgi, 3 May (IANS). Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge expressed surprise at the sudden acceptance of the caste census by the government, saying that the correct figures of all classes should be revealed in it.
On Saturday, the Congress President said on the question of caste census in Kalburgi, Karnataka, that he wrote a letter about this caste census two years ago, which he had also given a copy to the media. He said that when Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders were demanding caste census, many Union ministers were saying that the Congress wants to break the society, wants to spread discrimination. But now he has accepted this subject. He said, “I do not know what their motive is behind this? But we want the correct figures of all sections of the society to be revealed in every way, so that proper benefits and plans can be made for every class.”
Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Kharge said that we all have been shocked by the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. In the meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), we said that the families of all the 26 people killed in the attack should be compensated and their rehabilitation should be provided. At the same time, Pakistan should give a befitting reply to the attack.
It is noteworthy that a CWC meeting was held in Delhi on Friday under the chairmanship of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. In the meeting, the Congress President had said that after the Pahalgam terror attack, the proposal of CWC on April 24 was passed in the fight against terrorism and giving all possible support to the government in the fight against terrorism and teaching a lesson to the terrorists. But even after several days of this incident, no clear strategy has been revealed by the government.
