Singapore: Polling for the 16th general election in Singapore is going on at 8 am on Saturday morning (local time). Who will be heavy in this election, it will be clear only after the election results. It is being told that this polling will continue till 8 pm tonight. People have started arriving at polling stations since morning to vote.
According to government data, 27,58,846 voters in the country are eligible to exercise their franchise. 1,240 centers have been set up for voting. The results are expected to come up late at night. Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong appealed to the people to vote for the ruling ‘People’s Action Party’ (PAP). Out of a total of 97 parliamentary seats, 211 candidates from various political parties are contesting on 92. In these elections, inflation and increasing number of foreign workers were major issues.
