Trees fell on the road due to rain
In Gujarat, 14 people have died due to thunderstorms, storm lightning and rain. According to the news of the news agency PTI, at least 14 people died in many incidents due to bad weather in different parts of the state. Officials on Tuesday informed about the damage caused by thunderstorms. There are still strong winds in Gujarat and it is raining in turn. In such a situation, the total loss will be assessed only after the weather is normal. According to the Meteorological Department, till May 7, heavy rains and strong winds will continue to wreak havoc.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted strong winds and rains in different parts of the state for the next few days. According to the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC), 168 out of 253 talukas in Gujarat received untimely rainfall on Monday. Kheda, Gandhinagar, Mehsana and Vadodara districts recorded 25 to 40 mm of rainfall.
13 people died in rain related incidents
According to SEOC, 13 people died in rain -related incidents in Ahmedabad, Anand, Kheda, Dahod, Aravalli and Vadodara districts on Monday, while on Sunday, one person died due to lightning in Viramgam area of Ahmedabad. Due to strong winds, trees, hoardings and electric poles fell in many districts, while some houses also collapsed. Many people have been reported injured in these incidents.
According to SEOC, four in Kheda district, three in Vadodara, two in Ahmedabad, Dahod and Aravali and one in Anand district have died. Four people died in various incidents due to falling of trees, while two people died due to collapse of hoardings, two people due to lightning and three others died due to falling house.
Many huts burnt due to strong winds
Officials said that dozens of huts were gutted due to strong winds in Limkheda in Dahod district. The IMD has predicted strong winds and thunderstorms in many parts of the state in the next few days.
In the next three days, heavy rainfall has been warned in Banaskantha, Kachch, Sabarkantha, Aravalli and Anand districts. Due to rain, day temperature dropped in some parts of the state. The temperature is expected to fall by three to five degrees Celsius in the next few days. (Input-PTI)
