Jodhpur. An emergency mock exercise (Mock Drill) was organized at the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOC) depot located in Salawas, Jodhpur on Wednesday under the guidance of the state government and the Chief Secretary, Government of Rajasthan, Jaipur.
Disaster response process started on Air Force notice
The Civil Protection Control Room was informed by the Air Force Headquarters, Jodhpur at 4 pm that IOCL. The terminal is attacked by aircraft. After this information, a warning was issued to the common man through all 18 sires installed in the Jodhpur Municipal Corporation area.
All casual service departments were active
As soon as the incident was reported, the rescue team of the Civil Protection Department was sent to the team for immediate relief and rescue work. Police Control Room Jodhpur alerted all casual service departments – police, medical, fire fighting, SDRF etc.
The injured were provided primary and advanced medical services
Taking quick action by the Civil Protection Rescue Team, the injured who arrived at the scene were safely taken out. Of these, 8 persons were given first aid while 2 very serious injured were referred to the High Medical Institute.
District Collector said that the main objective of this mock drill was to test the mutual coordination, quick response and efficiency of the administrative departments. Along with this, developing an understanding of disaster management among the common people, especially students and youth was also an important goal. The District Collector directed to ensure necessary medicines, readiness of ambulances and availability of adequate medical staff for the strengthening of emergency services in hospitals. Also asked the fire department to be cautious to operate its vehicles and equipment.
In the mock drill, Jodhpur Development Authority Commissioner Vasta Chaudhary, Additional District Collector (Second) Surendra Rajpurohit, Additional District Collector City Udayabhanu Charan and senior officers of Police Department were present.
