In Ambedkaranagar district of Uttar Pradesh, the police have exposed an organized thug gang who used to cheat by preparing a script in film style in the name of ‘Shaadi’. The mastermind of this gang was none other than a woman herself – Gulshan Riyaz Khan, who has been infamous as a ‘robbery bride’ all over India. Gulshan used to play a character like a heroine of a film – sometimes Kajal, sometimes Seema, sometimes by becoming a sweetie. He has done more than 12 fake marriages so far and every marriage has been done under a well-planned scheme.
The entire script of cheating was prepared
Gulshan’s gang used to target such men who had become frustrated for marriage due to age or condition. Then the marriage was decided by recovering money from them. There were rituals in the temple, the bride used to leave, but … then suddenly the script changing and the ‘bride’ missing!
In some cases she was shown kidnapped, in some she would run away with jewels.
There used to be “scene change” soon after marriage
A young man named Sonu of Haryana became a groom in the latest incident of Ambedkarnagar. Gulshan married her on 29 April, but soon after marriage a bike gang picked up the “bride”. Sonu immediately called 112 and the police swung into action. Soon the police arrested the entire gang.
Characters were made with fake ID
11 mobile, fake Aadhaar card, gold mangalsutra and Rs 72000 have been recovered from the gang. According to the police, the gang consists of 9 members, including 5 women who played the bride’s family.

According to Keshav Kumar, SP of Ambedkaranagar, the gang was active in many states – Gujarat, Bihar, Haryana and UP till now. They are interrogated and there is a possibility that more such cases may come up.
