The Congress party has given its full support to the Central Government during the all -party meeting held on Thursday to overcome the increasing tension with Pakistan after India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ and then the Line of Control (LoC).
However, in the meeting, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge questioned the absence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the meeting and asked if the Prime Minister considers himself above Parliament.
Explain that this meeting was called to inform political leaders about the situation after Operation Sindoor.
Operation Sindoor was a series of accurate missile attack on Wednesday, in which nine terrorist camps were targeted in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (PoK) under the retaliation of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April.
Talking to the media after the meeting, Kharge said, “We heard what (by the government) said. He said that in the interest of the country, anything based on national security is confidential and they cannot say anything about it. However, all the party members said that all the party members said that we are all with them in this hour of crisis and told them that they will continue to work and we will support them in the interest of the country.”
Despite the performance of solidarity, Kharge hit Prime Minister Modi for not attending the meeting. Such discussions led to his second consecutive absence.
Kharge said, “The last time they were not there and this time they are not there.
His comment reiterates the same criticism that he made after Prime Minister Modi not attended the all -party meeting after the Pahalgam terror attack. He said that the Prime Minister should have heard the views of the opposition members directly.
Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, who attended the meeting, confirmed the support of the Congress towards the government’s works in the national interest.
Gandhi emphasized the need for unity during the crisis, saying, “We gave our full support. As Kharge ji said, these things cannot be discussed. But everyone supported.”
The central government today called an all -party meeting in Parliament House regarding Operation Sindoor. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh informed political parties about India’s action on cross -border terrorism.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister JP Nadda, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Opposition Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and many other leaders attended the meeting.
