The bench of Justice Suryakant, Justice Dipankar Dutta and Justice N. Kotishwar Singh, citing the previous order of the apex court, said that no other interim instructions are required on the issue of refugees. The next hearing of the case will now be held on 14 May.
According to the Bar and Bench, senior advocate Colin Gonzalvis and advocate Prashant Bhushan, appearing for the Rohingya refugees, told the court that last night, some refugees who had UNHCR cards were caught by the police and deafening them while the case was listed in the Supreme Court today. The lawyer said, the deported people were with the children and the family. It is shocking. Gonzalvis also said that the Rohingya refugees have been protected by the apex court for 10 years, but the exile against them was taken a few hours before the hearing in the court. At the same time, advocate Prashant Bhushan told the bench that Myanmar is not accepting the Rohingya refugees exiled from India, as they are stateless citizens.
At the same time, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that India is not a party to the refugee conference. Along with this, he also put a question mark on the UNHCR card of refugees. He said that identity cards issued by the United Nations High Commissioner (UNHCR) could not be helpful for him in any way. On this, the court said that in view of its earlier order of April 2021, no other interim instructions are required.
