Civil establishments have suffered severe damage in ceasefire violations by Pakistan in a village on the India-Pakistan border in Jammu and Kashmir. 13 civilians have died and 44 were injured in Poonch due to ceasefire violation by Pakistan on the Line of Control (LoC).
The lament of local women who have lost their loved ones have put the district in crisis.
A citizen living in the village told about the damage done to the local community, pointing to a house consisting of a young woman and three children. He appealed to the government that bunkers should be made available as Pakistan is continuously firing.
He said, “Our Sikh community has suffered heavy losses here. This woman has small children and has lost a lot. I want to appeal to the government to have a ceasefire and peace soon.”
The citizen said, “We were not given bunkers, while our area is adjacent to the boundary and there is a lot of shelling. I want to appeal that we should provide bunkers.”
National Conference (NC) block youth president Mohammad Naseem demanded that those who have been damaged should be given relief.
He told ANI, “We have suffered losses. One of our sisters has died here. We want peace. We need bunkers here. Those who have been damaged should be given relief. There should be no war, there should be peace.”
Mohammad Nawaz Mughal’s property has been damaged in a ceasefire violation by Pakistan. He has demanded assistance from the government. He said, “The action taken by Prime Minister Modi (against Pakistan) is excellent.
The Mughal told ANI, “However, we plead with the government for help, as my son’s house has been damaged.”
The heavy firing by the Pakistani Army on the Line of Control was done in response to the ‘Operation Sindoor’ of May 7, in which the Indian armed forces targeted a total of nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (POK).
