New Delhi, 8 May (IANS). The Supreme Court on Thursday gave great relief to the accused in the Lakhimpur-Kheri violence case Ashish Mishra. The Supreme Court has exempted the conditions of bail of Ashish Mishra that the accused may stay in Lakhimpur Kheri every Sunday.
The Supreme Court on Thursday gave relief to Ashish Mishra, the main accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, saying that he can go to Lakhimpur Kheri on Saturday evening but he will have to leave Lakhimpur Kheri by Sunday evening.
The court also said that during this time Ashish Mishra will not participate in any public meeting nor will it be involved in any political activities.
On behalf of Ashish Mishra, it was argued in the Supreme Court that he could not meet his mother and children. He also wants to spend time with his children and family.
Ashish Mishra’s lawyer alleged that the accused of the other party, there is nothing in their bail terms, while they are living in Lakhimpur even after bail.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court was told by the UP government that 16 eyewitnesses had testified, while there are a total of 208 witnesses.

In fact, eight people died during the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri in 2021. Ashish Mishra, son of former Union Minister Ajay Mishra, is the main accused in this case.
In July last year, the Supreme Court converted the interim bail given to Ashish Mishra, son of former Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra in the 2021 Lakhimpur Kheri violence case.
Earlier, the apex court relaxed Ashish Mishra’s bail condition to stay in the national capital. Considering this, he had said that his mother is admitted to a hospital in Delhi and his daughter also needs treatment.
