India-Pakistan Conflict: 32 airports in North and Western India, which were closed as the conflict between India and Pakistan increased, have reopened with immediate effect. A notem (notice to airmen) associated with this has been issued. Also, 25 air routes have been reopened. Earlier, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) and other Aviation Regulators had issued notums to temporarily shut down 32 airports in India’s border area. Flights were suspended due to operational reasons and the suspension was effective from May 9 to May 15. Now the Airport Authority of India has said that temporarily closed airports have been opened with immediate effect.
These airports were closed
The airports which were temporarily closed were also prominent airports like Chandigarh, Srinagar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Bhuntar, Kishangarh, Patiala, Shimla, Dharamshala and Bathinda. In addition, the airports of strategically important places such as Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Leh, Bikaner, Pathankot, Jammu, Jamnagar and Bhuj were also temporarily closed.

Understanding on stopping military action
Operation vermilion was launched by India on 7 May after the lives of 26 people in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Missiles were fired at nine terrorist bases in Pakistan and PoK. After this, tension between India and Pakistan increased. Now that the airports have been reopened when the two countries have been understood to stop military action.
