The Madhya Pradesh High Court on Thursday expressed dissatisfaction over the FIR lodged by the police on his order against Minister Vijay Shah regarding objectionable remarks about Colonel Sophia Qureshi and said it should be widespread.
When the bench of Justices Atul Sreedharan and Anuradha Shukla put it before them to show compliance with the previous order, they said that in the present form, it can be rejected if the FIR is challenged.
The court’s remarks came when Tribal Affairs Minister Shah moved the Supreme Court against the High Court’s directive to register an FIR against him. The apex court will hear his petition on Friday.
The High Court on Thursday said that the police should include a comprehensive details of the alleged offenses in the FIR and should be in line with its Wednesday order. The bench said that the police should ensure a fair investigation.
On Wednesday, the High Court took automatic cognizance of the minister’s disputed statements.
