If any feeling is the most momentary and destructive in life, then it is anger. This is a feeling that not only affects our mental health, but can also dissolve poison in relationships, career and social life. But is the solution to suppress anger? Or is it a more right way to understand and accept it? We get the answer to this question in the teachings of world famous mystic and spiritual guru Osho Rajneesh. Instead of denying or pressing anger, Osho has spoken of understanding and learning from him. He believed that by denying anger, he takes within and a gigantic form, whereas if we look at him with full awareness, it itself ends.

Anger: A natural but incomplete experience
Osho says, “Anger is not a problem, it is an energy. When this energy is used efficiently, it can become compassion. When it is suppressed, it becomes violence.” Anger comes when our expectations break, when nothing is our mind. This is a reaction, reaction. But often we either make it explosive or suppress this reaction in the right direction. There is damage in both the conditions. According to Osho, pressing anger is the same as to cover an explosive – one day it will explode more loudly.

5 major formulas of Osho to deal with anger
1. Accept anger, do not deny
Osho says that the first step is to recognize and accept anger. If you are angry, then instead of covering it with a false smile, be honest by yourself. When you say, “Yes, I am angry”, you become alert towards him – and this is the first cure.

2. Choose a healthy medium to take out anger
Osho many times suggested meditation methods to people out of anger. The method of his ‘dynamic meditation’ or ‘Katarsis meditation’ was formed-that people could take out the negative expressions within themselves through dance, screaming, moving or breathing. This not only makes the mind lighter, but also weakens the roots of anger.

3. Do not change anger in response immediately
Osho suggests that whenever anger comes, do not react immediately. Wait for a while, see it, understand. It is your power to stop. If you can avoid that moment, 90% chances are you not taking any wrong decision.

4. Join meditation and peace
Osho believed that regular meditation and silent practice creates such awareness in the mind, which does not dominate you, irrespective of the feeling, even if it is anger. You can see it, but do not be a part of it.

5. Identify the fear and expectations hidden behind anger
Many times, fear, insecurity, injury or incomplete expectations are hidden behind anger. Osho says that if you look honestly within yourself, you will find that anger is just a layer – something else is going on below it. It is important to understand that. Osho’s revolutionary talk: “Don’t run away from anger, live him – but with full awareness”
The biggest feature of Osho was that he did not consider any feeling wrong or sin. According to him, “whatever is within you is your part. Live anger, but with consciousness.” This ‘senses’ means – every moment to know what you are doing, why you are doing, and what will result in. If you live anger like this, it cannot burn you – he can refine your consciousness.

Increasing anger in society: Are Osho’s teachings relevant even today?
In today’s time, when social media, competition and run -up life is making people irritable and angry, Osho’s words have become more important than ever. Instead of suppressing anger or putting a fake curtain on it, if we learn the art of understanding it and using it in the right direction, then it can not only balance our personal life, but can also give a quiet direction to the society.
