Market closed in red mark on the last day of the week
Share Market Closing 16th May, 2025: On Friday, the Indian stock market started trading in red mark with a decline and stopped business in red mark itself. Closed at 82,330.59 points with a loss of 200.15 points (0.24%) on the last day of the week. Similarly, today NSE’s Nifty 50 index also closed at 25,019.80 points with a decline of 42.30 points (0.17%). Today, especially IT and banking stocks saw selling. Let us tell you that on Thursday, on Thursday, the Sensex rose by 1200.18 points (1.48%) to 82,530.74 points and the Nifty closed at 25,062.10 points with a gain of 395.20 points (1.60%).
Bharti Airtel’s stock falls drastically
Today, 16 out of 30 companies of Sensex closed in green mark and the remaining 14 companies’ shares closed in red mark. Similarly, 26 out of 50 of the Nifty 50 shutd their shares in the green mark with an increase and the remaining 24 companies’ shares closed in the red mark with disadvantages. On Friday, Arternall’s stock included the highest at 1.38 percent and Bharti Airtel’s shares closed down 2.81 percent.
Hindustan Unilever, Asian Paints shares boom
Apart from these, Hindustan Unilever shares included 1.10 percent, Asian Paints 0.98, ITC 0.80, Tata Motors 0.36, NTPC 0.35, IndusInd Bank 0.26, Nestle India 0.25, Powergrid 0.23, Religious Industries 0.19, Maruti Sujuki 0.13, ICCI Bank 0.12, Kotak Mahindra Bank 0.08, Tata Steel 0.06, UltraTech Cement 0.01 and Adani Ports closed with a gain of 0.01 percent.
HCS Tech, SBI’s stocks broken
On the other hand, HCL Tech shares 2.14, State Bank of India 1.96, Infosys 1.46, Tech Mahindra 0.79, TCS 0.50, Bajaj Finsarv 0.42, Sunpharma 0.38, Larsen & Tubro 0.36, Mahindra & Mahindra 0.31, Mahindra 0.31, Titan 0.16, Bajaj Finance 0.14, Axis Finance 0.14, HDFC Bank shares closed down 0.01 percent.
