Pali. The Anti -Corruption Bureau (ACB), taking a major action in Pali district today, arrested three people, including a junior engineer associated with Discom, taking a bribe of Rs 6,000 red handed. The action was taken by the ACB Pali first unit, in which the engineer as well as the contractor and his assistant have also been arrested.
Track laid on the basis of complaint
Director General of Anti -Corruption Bureau, Dr. Ravi Prakash Meharra said that the ACB had received a complaint that a farmer had applied for agricultural electricity connection and also deposited the entire amount of Rs 29,350 as per the demand letter issued by the department. Despite this, a bribe of Rs 15,000 was being sought by Junior Engineer Dhannaram and contractor Ramkunwar Gurjar in lieu of putting pole and pulling the wire.
All three accused arrested
Following the confirmation of the complaint, the trap team was formed in the supervision of Deputy Inspector General of Police Harendra Mahawar and under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Dukiya. During the action, junior engineer Dhannaram son Thanaram (resident Salaria, Pali), contractor Ramkunwar Gurjar son Chhotaram (resident Rajalani, Jodhpur) and his assistant Mahipal Doodi son Gumanram (resident Rajalani, Jodhpur) were arrested red handed taking a bribe of Rs 6,000.
Inquiry and research continues
The three accused are being questioned under the supervision of ACB Additional Director General Smita Srivastava. Further investigation is being done by filing a case under the sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act in the case.
This case not only exposes corruption prevailing in government departments, but also explains how common citizens are being forced to bribe to get the benefits of schemes. The readiness and transparent action of ACB gives strict messages in such cases that corruption will not be tolerated.
