Uttarakhand news: There is a lot of resentment among the local people and Hindu organizations due to the disappearance of a 14 -year -old minor girl in Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand. It is alleged that a 24-year-old youth has seduced the girl. Activists of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal have described the incident as a case related to love jihad and demanded to break the house of the accused with bulldozers. Although Udham Singh Nagar Police has assured to find the girl soon, Hindu organizations allege that the incident has passed 19 days. And so far the police have neither been able to find the girl nor the accused. He raised the question, how can the police remain oblivious about the missing girl 19 days ago? Significantly, the girl went missing on 28 April.
On Friday, VHP and Bajrang Dal activists held a fierce demonstration in front of Kelkheda police station and demanded the demolition of the house of the accused who worked as a barber in the colony. He alleged that this is another case of love jihad in the state. Despite repeated talks and debates with the station incharge, the protesters refused to leave the police station premises. He calmed down only after the arrival of BJP MLA Shiv Arora from Rudrapur and addressed. Arora assured the protesters that the police will soon find out the minor girl and the young man who was seduced. Right -wing activists warned that if the girl is not brought back soon, they would take to the streets.
According to SSP Manikant Tiwari of Udham Singh Nagar, the 14-year-old minor girl was seduced by a 24-year-old barber from another community on April 28. Following the complaint of the girl’s parents, the Kelkheda police filed a missing report. The girl’s father has accused the young man of kidnapping his daughter. Two days later, on 30 April, VHP and Bajrang Dal activist Kalkheda met Kelkheda police station incharge under the leadership of VHP Gau Raksha Dal State Secretary Yashpal Rajhans and demanded the recovery of the minor girl. Fools alleged that the accused is part of a love jihad network operating in the state.
SSP Manikant Tiwari said, “The missing girl is 14 years old, all efforts are being made to recover both the youths who were seduced.” The family and friends of the young man have been questioned, and teams have been sent to other states and places which came out during the investigation. We have a strong clue about the hideout of the young man and the missing minor girl. The police will bring them back soon.
