Vatican City: Pope Leo 14th (age 69), who was first selected from the US for the first time in the history of the Catholic Church, committed to work for unity and peace in the world in a grand prayer meeting on Saturday. He said at a ceremony held at St. Peters Square that making the church “symbol of solidarity” is his priority.

He looked at the ring respectfully and then prayed with folded hands.

Tight security arrangements were made in Vatican on this historic occasion. One of the last foreign leaders from the late Pope Francis, US Vice President JD Vance paid tribute to the samadhi of the Argentina Pope and led the American delegation to honor the Pope Lio 14th, born in Chicago. He was accompanied by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who had already reached Rome for Russia-Ukraine peace talks.
