Mehsana, 18 May (IANS). Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday gave K.K. Inaugurated the newly constructed building of Patel and Madhuben Patel Nursing College.
The institute is run by Samarth Chunnilal and Sheth Dosabhai Madhavji Public Hospital, which is a long -term community institution in the region.
Addressing the huge gathering present at the inauguration ceremony, Home Minister Amit Shah under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the revolutionary changes brought in the country’s healthcare since 2014.
He said, “Today 60 crore citizens are getting quality healthcare through the Ayushman Bharat Scheme and every Ayushman card is getting medical coverage of up to five lakh rupees.”
He said that the change in access to public healthcare is one of the most influential achievements of the Modi government.
Shah explained in detail about welfare schemes, who have contributed to improving health and hygiene in the society. These include Nutrition Campaign, Swachh Bharat Mission, Fit India Movement, Har Ghar Jal, Mission Indradhanush and Ayushman Bharat.
He said, “Earlier India’s healthcare budget was Rs 37,000 crore. Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, this figure has increased to Rs 1.37 lakh crore, which is completely for public health.”
He also emphasized the expansion of infrastructure under the National Digital Health Ecosystem, including telemedicine services, Ayushman Temple (Health and Welfare Center) etc.
Shah also highlighted the increase in the number of medical institutions. He said that the number of AIIMS has increased from seven to 23 and the number of medical colleges has increased from 387 to 780.
He said, “Earlier 51,000 medical graduates used to come out in the country every year. Today this number has increased to 1,18,000, which are providing medical services across the country.”
The Home Minister said that in the last decade, Jan Aushadhi Kendras have distributed cheap generic medicines worth Rs 25,000 crore to the public.
He said that these initiatives have brought modern healthcare to rural and disadvantaged communities. In his speech, the Home Minister made an emotional appeal to the community, “It is the responsibility of the society to modernize our old hospitals and to convert them into advanced medical care centers. With the support of schemes like Ayushman Bharat, charity -run hospitals are also working with new energy and impact.”
A wide range of modern departments, including surgery, gynecology, internal medicine, bone disease, eye disease, pediatrics, dental, physiotherapy and kidney dialysis centers are available in the newly constructed nursing college and hospital campus.
Visiting expert services include ENT, dermatology, psychiatry, sonography, gastroenterology, echocardiography, nephrology, neurology and pulmonology.
With this comprehensive facility, more than 50 nearby villages are expected to get service, which will become the center of both education and treatment in the region. The objective of the institute is to provide high-quality medical services supported by advanced technology and human-focused approach.
MP Hari Patel described it as a moment of pride for Gojariya and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for healthcare and rural development. The program was also blessed by the Holiness Vagishkumar of Kankroli, who prayed and accepted the contribution of donors and trustees.
