A top government official has given this information on Wednesday. Explain that the International Tea Day celebrated on 21 May highlights the cultural and economic importance of tea worldwide and recognizes the contribution of workers in the region.
‘Tea literacy’ will be promoted
On International Tea Day, Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal said that such syllabus will also help in promoting ‘tea literacy’ in the country. Barthwal said, “The tea board is taking steps to set up a center of certificate courses for the taste of tea in the country.” According to experts, such courses will provide streamlined training in the field of taste detection of tea as it is a special skill required for the industry. It will also help to standardize the practices of taste and provide a recognized qualification to young professionals. This will also contribute to promoting tea tourism. ”
What do T-Testers do?
T-tester helps in dividing the varieties according to the quality and aroma of tea. Testing the taste of tea is completely an art. T-testers may advise in various ways to achieve a particular taste.
In the financial year 2024-25, tea exports increased from $ 83 million to $ 92 million in the previous financial year. Major producing states include Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, where 81 percent of production is consumed domestically. (With language inputs)
