Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former president Rahul Gandhi and several party leaders paid tribute to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 34th death anniversary on Wednesday. Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram paid tribute to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi by visiting Veer Bhoomi in Delhi. On this occasion, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge reached the Veer Bhoomi of Delhi and paid tribute to them.

Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge paid tribute to Rajiv Gandhi while sharing a video on X. He wrote that Rajiv Gandhi- A great son of India raised a ray of hope among millions of Indians. His visionary and courageous interventions played an important role in preparing India for the 21st century challenges and opportunities.
Along with this, he wrote that reducing the age of voting to 18 years, strengthening the panchayati raj, leading telecommunications and IT revolution, implementing computerization programs, ensuring continuous peace agreements, starting universal vaccination programs and introducing a new education policy focused on inclusive education. West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamta Banerjee also remembered Rajiv Gandhi. He wrote on X that today a tribute to former Prime Minister of India, late Rajiv Gandhi, on his death anniversary. Rajiv Gandhi was a visionary person and was martyred for India.

Let us know that former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated on 21 May 1991 in a suicide bomb blast. During his tenure, he sent the Shanti Sena to Sri Lanka, with the Tamil rebel organization LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam) was angry with him. In 1991, when Rajiv Gandhi went to Sriperumbdur near Chennai to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections, LTTE made a suicide attack on Rajiv.
