Jaipur. Another major action has been carried out under the campaign against corruption in Rajasthan. The Anti -Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested District Transport Officer Punyaram Meena for his involvement during research in the Sawaimadhopur bribery case. Earlier, in the same case, the then ACB in -charge Additional Superintendent of Police Surendra Kumar Sharma and two brokers were arrested on 19 May. On the instructions of ACB Headquarters, the Jaipur unit is constantly taking action in this case. Director General of Bureau, Dr. Ravi Prakash Meharra said that on the basis of the facts revealed in the preliminary investigation, the involvement of officers and employees of the Transport Department as well as other departments is also being investigated.
Accused arrest from CBI gate, Jagatpura
The team of Police Inspector Rajkumar Sharma, led by Additional Superintendent of Police (Research Officer) of ACB Jaipur under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General of Police Rajesh Singh, Bureau, today, accused Punyaram Meena from the CBI Gate, Jagatpura area of Jaipur. After initial inquiry and intensive research, adequate evidence was found against him, on the basis of which he was arrested.
Inquiry and further action continues
According to the bureau officials, the accused Punyaram Meena is being interrogated in depth, in which an attempt is being made to find out which other officials have played in this entire corruption cycle. It is believed that this bribery case is pointing to an organized network, which may include some ACB officers, the higher officials of the Transport Department and the broker class.
According to sources, cases such as fund transactions, demand for bribery demand for delay in government work, vehicle registration and illegal fee recovery in license process are also being investigated.

On 19 May 2025, an ACB team in Sawaimadhopur arrested the then ACB in -charge ASP Surendra Kumar Sharma and two brokers in a corruption case. It was alleged that bribe was being taken in exchange for convenience in government work and approval of files. This action created a stir in the entire administrative department.
After this, the headquarters in Jaipur ordered a high -level inquiry in view of the seriousness of the entire matter. Initial investigation itself was found to be suspicious of the role of Transport Department officials, due to which Punyaram Meena was tightened.
ACB strict action continues in Rajasthan
ACB’s activism has steadily increased after the state government adopted a policy of ‘zero tolerance’ on corruption. In the last one year, more than 100 officers and employees of various departments have been caught red handed by the bureau. The Chief Minister has also clearly stated that “corruption will not be tolerated, no matter what it is at any level.”
The eyes on this matter are now on the report that ACB will submit to the government in the coming week. It is believed that the report may have many shocking revelations. If the involvement of other departments is also found, more arrests are possible in the coming days.
ACB sources have indicated that a special team will soon be formed for intensive investigation of fake billing, illegal permits, broker networks and bank transactions.
