Tonk. Under the Jal Shakti Abhiyan, the Government of India has launched ‘Catch The Rain-2025’ at the national level. Shaktikanta Singh, Union Nodal Officer and Director of the Ministry of Rural Development, reviewed the campaign in Tonk on Sunday. He said that this campaign will run from 22 March 2025 to 30 November 2025. Its main objective is conservation and savings of rainwater.
Singh said that public awareness and participation is necessary for water storage in both urban and rural areas. He said that the usefulness of the work done before the monsoon would be seen after the monsoon. They will stay in the district for three days and observe the complete, competent and upcoming works.
Collector Dr. Soumya Jha was present in the review meeting. Superintendent Engineer Om Prakash Devnani of the Department of Water Eclipsed Development and Land Conservation gave information about the work done under water conservation in the district. He also described the plan for the work done and future works.
Superintending Engineer of Water Supply Department Rajesh Goyal gave information about the ongoing and completed works in the district under the Water Life Mission. The meeting was attended by Deputy Director of Central Water Commission Altaf Hussain, District Forest Divisional Officer Mariya A Shine, Zilla Parishad CEO Parshuram Dhanka, Superintendent Engineer Manoj Singh of Bisalpur Project and Joint Director of Agriculture Department Virendra Singh Solanki and other officials were also present.
