Padma Khanna started learning Kathak from Guru Kishan Maharaj in Varanasi at the age of only 7 years. Gradually, he started giving presentations on the stage and then received deep training from Gopi Krishna in Kathak. Seeing her outstanding dance skills, veteran actresses Padmini and Vyjayanthimala advised her to make a career in acting. At the age of just 12, Padma started her acting career with the 1961 Bhojpuri film ‘Bhaiya’. He got a big identity when he played the role of a cabaret dancer in the 1970 film ‘Johnny Mera Naam’. After this, he won the hearts of the audience with dance performance in films like ‘Loafer’, ‘Jan-e-Bahar’, and ‘Pakija’.
