New Delhi. America’s growing concerns about large -scale exile action and fresh warnings to Indian and other foreign students may pose a danger of losing their visa status, external policy expert Robinder Sachdev expressed concern for Indian students present in America.
Speaking to the news agency , foreign policy expert Robinder Sachdev said that this warning is technically correct, but the broad environment in the US is becoming increasingly contrary towards immigrants.
He said, “At one level, what the US is saying is correct. Students on the visa are expected to be present in the classroom regularly, maintain good educational status and continue their studies. If they do not do so, they are violating their visa conditions. Therefore, this perspective makes us understand the warning of America.
However, he emphasized a deep concern, saying, “The atmosphere in America has become anti -immigrant. The feeling is increasing that any immigrant – whether it is a student or H1B technical staff – should not be allowed to admission. Special investigation has been done during Trump administration, students, especially students involved in political activities or demonstrations. Even minor violations such as traffic violations are used as the basis of cancellation.”
He said that universities have been instructed to report any allegations or concerns related to international students. Sachdev said, “Students who are also being made minor allegations are being marked. The administration is canceling the visa aggressively under such circumstances. This has made the current atmosphere very disturbing for international students in the US.”
Explain that this warning came after several collective exile campaigns conducted by the US government earlier this year, in which many students and other immigrants were targeted.
In response, several US colleges have issued advice from international students not to travel out of the country to avoid the risk of cancellation of visa.
The growing apprehension among foreign students reflect widespread changes in the US immigration policy, where now legitimate visa holders are also facing more investigation and uncertainty about their future in the country.
