Government telecom company BSNL has shown amazing! The company has recorded a net profit of Rs 280 crore in the fourth quarter (January to March) of FY 2024-25. This is not a small thing!
Constant profits: This is the first time BSNL has made profits in two consecutive quarters. Earlier, in the third quarter, the company had benefited by 262 crores.
what changed? These are the main reasons behind this change of BSNL:
4G blast: The launch of the company’s 4G service has led to a tremendous bounce in the earnings of mobile services. Fiber’s strength: Ftth (Fiber to the Home) services have also gained a good 10%. Earning from enterprise: BSNL earned Rs 4,096 crore from enterprise services.
Loss low: Yes, the company incurred a total loss of 2,247 crores in FY25, but it is much less than the loss of 5,370 crores last year!
Effect of investment: BSNL invested over Rs 26,000 crore last year, with more than 98,000 4G towers.
What did the minister and MD say?
Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that BSNL has made a consecutive profit in 17 years. BSNL’s MD Robert J Ravi said that the company is not just making a comeback, but is redefining itself again.
What will happen next? BSNL says the profits may be slightly reduced in the coming times, but the expansion of 4G and 5G and the new investment is expected by the company in future.
