The Congress on Monday alleged that the RSS is under systemic infiltration in professional institutions, which are being destroyed. Along with this, the Congress cited irregularities in the Indian Council of History Research, which is being investigated by the CVC.
Congress General Secretary, Communications, Jairam Ramesh said, “Since May 2014, there has been a systematic infiltration of RSS in professional institutions. An example of this is an example of Indian historical research council.” He alleged, “Now these workers have not been accused by any institution less than the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) for financial disturbances. It is a scam of Rs 14 crore, which is a huge amount for ICHR.”
Citing media reports, Ramesh alleged that at the center of this “scam” there is an RSS organization called All India History Compilation Scheme (ABISI).
The Congress leader alleged, “ICHR is not alone. Many reputed institutions including top universities are being destroyed by RSS supporters with extremely suspicious academic credentials. We should not be really surprised, as this suspect starts very above.”
Media reports claimed that the CVC is investigating the “scam” of Rs 14 crore in the ICHR and has advised the government to take action against some members of the ABISY.
There was no immediate comment from ICHR or ABISY.
