Mumbai, June 2 (IANS). India’s Green Economy is expected to reach 1 trillion dollars by 2030 and $ 15 by 2070 by 2030. This information was given in a report on Monday.
With this rapid growth, India is also ready to create a large number of green jobs.
According to NLB Services reports, about 7.29 million jobs can be created by FY 2027-28 and 35 million jobs by the year 2047.
NLB Services CEO Sachin separate said, “In the last 4-5 years we have seen that green jobs have come into the mainstream like renewable energy, EV and sustainable infrastructure.”
Parta said, “Today’s green workforce needs both sustainability information and digital fluency. This is how AI, Internet of Things, Blockchain, GIS and data-drivon tools are laying the foundation of the new era’s green career.”
As the Green sector is expanding, industries are not only investing in green technology and renewable energy, but are also focusing on creating skilled works to meet the growing demand.
This change is motivating companies to change their recruitment strategies.
Instead of being dependent on traditional degrees only, employers are now giving more importance to practical green skills and practical experience.
The report said that many companies are working closely with colleges and universities to equip the youth with skills related to sustainability.
The new employment landscape is stronger than earlier forecasts. In 2024, in case of job demand, the green sector was expected to increase at a rate of 15-20 percent annually.
Most of Green Jobs are still in big cities like Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi. However, small cities like Jaipur, Indore, Visakhapatnam, Coimbatore, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh and Ahmedabad are also becoming major centers of green jobs.
According to the report, Tier II and Tier III cities are expected to create 35-40 percent out of estimated 7.29 million jobs by FY 2028.
The roles of green jobs are also becoming more diverse. Demand for professionals in areas such as ESG (environment, social and governance) analysis, climate data analysis and green technology is increasing rapidly, an estimated 20–30 percent increase annually.
