New Delhi. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah thanked and praised PM Narendra Modi for inauguration of Katra-Srinagar Rail Service. Omar said that PM Modi did the work that the British could not do to connect the valley to the railway network. With this, Omar Abdullah demanded that Jammu and Kashmir be given full state status. Omar told Modi that Manoj Sinha Saheb has been promoted by the grace of Mother Vaishno Devi but I have been demonstrated. I was the CM of a state, now I am the CM of a Union Territory. He also told the whole story behind this.

Omar said, Wazirezam Saheb call it luck, call it a lot, whenever there were any big programs of rail, I have been lucky that I got a chance to join it. The first time Anantnag station was inaugurated, when the Banihal Rail Tunnel was inaugurated and the last program of my previous government was inaugurated here in 2014. It is a matter of coincidence that the four people involved in that program are still with you here. You became PM for the first time, after that you became PM for three consecutive times, Union Minister Jitendra Singh was also present in that program. Even our LG Manoj Sinha was the Minister of State for Railways at that time and I was here as CM. Now Manoj Sinha Saheb has been promoted but I have been demonstrated. I was the CM of a state, now I am the CM of a Union Territory. But I am going to believe that it will not take much time to repair it and Jammu and Kashmir will get full state status again.

Omar said, many people had dreamed of this railway service in the valley. The Kashmir Valley is now connected to the rest of the country. On this occasion, if I do not mention former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and do not thank him, it will be my mistake. When the foundation of this project was laid, I used to study in 8th. Now I am 55 years old and finally it has been inaugurated. This was possible only when Atal Bihari Vajpayee gave it the status of ‘Project of National Importance’ and increased its budget.
