A heartbreaking incident has come to light from Jodhpur district of Rajasthan. Here a 12th student committed suicide by consuming poisonous pills, fed up with the pornographic antics of her school teacher. The girl’s family has now filed a case against the school director and teacher under the Poxo Act.
According to the father of the deceased student, his daughter had told him that the school teacher used to make obscene gestures and send a message to meet him. On finding out this, his wife went to school and complained to the teacher to the school director. Despite this, the teacher’s actions did not stop. Troubled by this mental harassment, the daughter swallowed poisonous substance on 5 December, after which she was taken to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, where she died.
The father has filed a case under the Poxo Act against the accused teacher and school director. On the allegations, the school director said that when the family came to school with a complaint of molestation, he took the matter seriously and immediately expelled the teacher from the school. Also, a committee was also constituted to investigate the matter.
At present, the police has started investigating the matter. The police has sent the girl’s mobile for FSL investigation to investigate the pornographic messages sent by the accused teacher. CDEO Seema Sharma said that the matter has come to my notice. I have directed the CBEO to constitute a committee and investigate the matter.
This incident has raised serious questions on the safety of girls in the society. This shows that girls may also face sexual abuse in school. At present, the police has intensified the investigation of the case. Action is expected to be taken against the accused soon.
