According to US media, the decision has been taken after a violent clash between immigrant communities and American immigration and customs enforcement in Los Angeles. Trump has fiercely reprimanded the X post, holding the Governor of California and the mayor of Los Angeles responsible for this situation.
Trump, while adopting a strict attitude on the incidents of arson on Friday, wrote on X, “If California Governor Gavin Nyuskam and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass cannot do their work, about which everyone knows that they cannot do, the federal government will intervene and solve the problem of riots and robbers, which should be solved !!!”

According to the news agency Sinhaua, the raid by the US immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Los Angeles on Friday created a stir in the entire city. During this operation, 44 people were detained, causing resentment to the immigrant communities. Widespread protests began against this raid. After this, a situation of confrontation also arose between the police and the protesters at many places.
Some videos posted online showed that on Friday afternoon there was a clash with about a hundred protesters with immigration agents, when several employees were detained in handcuffs at a clothes shop in fashion district.
Service Employees International Union California issued a statement saying that Union President David Hurta “was injured and detained during the raid.”
United States Attorney Bill Esseli of Central District, California, said in an X post that Hurta was arrested for “interfering in the work of federal officials” because he interrupts “deliberately interrupted his vehicle.”
Eselie also said that the federal agents were issuing search warrants in the fashion district for alleged fake employee documents. He said that the reason to believe that the employer was using fake documents for some of his employees.
In the evening, around 500 people gathered in Downtown, Los Angeles to oppose the raids. The large crowd caught banners in the area and raised slogans of “ICE Out of LA”.
The video obtained from the scene featured the protesters fighting with policemen, while tear gas and paper spray were used. Some protesters used hammers to break concrete columns and threw large broken concrete at the authorities.
Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) head Jim McDonal issued a statement on Friday, stating that LAPD was not involved in civil immigration enforcement during the day. However, LAPD declared the protest in the evening as an illegal meeting and later issued a warning across the city, requesting all officers to be on duty.
McDonal said in a statement, “I know that these actions cause concern for many angelinos. I want everyone, including our immigrant community, feel safe in calling the police at the time of their need and know that LAPD will be present for your help regardless of someone’s immigration status.”
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass released a statement on Friday night stating that he was “very angry” with federal immigration enforcement actions in the city.
The statement said, “These strategies spread terror in our communities and create distrust on the basic principles of security in our city. My office is in close coordination with immigrant rights community organizations. We will not tolerate it.” Local community organizations held a press conference condemning the raid in the evening. Angelica Salas, executive director of the coalition of human immigrant rights at the conference, said, “They were randomly raided, and they were raising our community in random raids. They were portraying our community racially.”
