New Delhi. The Railway Ministry has taken a big decision in the case of Tatkal ticket booking on Wednesday. The Railway Ministry has said that from 1 July 2025, the booking of Tatkal tickets will not be done without Aadhaar verification ID. That is, only they will be able to do Tatkal tickets online, whose IRCTC user will be verified by ID Aadhaar. Verification will make the passenger’s Tatkal ticket. The Ministry of Railways has taken this step to prevent the disturbances in Tatkal tickets. Recently, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave information about this through a post on X.
Some time ago, IRCTC had exposed such a gang, which used to infiltrate the booking software through Bot Wagaira and immediately make the passenger’s Tatkal ticket. Whereas, the common people had to chew Nako gram in the reservation of Tatkal tickets. All the tickets were made in a few minutes of the booking of Tatkal tickets at 10 am and the needy could not get tickets. Complaints were continuously complaining about this, passengers from the Ministry of Railways and IRCTC. After which a thorough investigation was done and the gang engaged in making Tatkal tickets was exposed. IRCTC has also blocked all user IDs after the investigation was revealed.
IRCTC has more than 13 crore users across the country, but only 10 percent of them have got Aadhaar verification done in their login ID. Now after entering information about the passenger to buy Tatkal tickets from July 1, OTP will come for online verification. Which can be made in the Tatkal ticket only after putting it in the system. The passenger’s Tatkal ticket system will not be created with an ID without Aadhaar verification. The Ministry of Railways says that this will easily get Tatkal tickets to needy passengers. Apart from this, the users who have not done Aadhaar verification after these rules are implemented will also be forced to conduct Aadhaar verification to do Tatkal tickets.
