New Delhi . Air India aircraft crashed in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on Thursday afternoon. Indian armed forces teams were immediately sent for relief and rescue operations after the Air India aircraft crashed near Ahmedabad Airport. Apart from this, NDRF and other agencies have also reached the spot with the armed forces for initial relief operations. According to the army, the medical team and other rescue personnel have been deployed in this team of military forces.
The Air India aircraft had a total of 242 passengers, including two pilots and 10 cabin crew. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has expressed deep condolences on the plane crash.
He said that he is very sad to hear the sad news of the plane crash in Ahmedabad. Their condolences and prayers are with passengers and crew families.
The Air India aircraft crashed at Ahmedabad Airport a few minutes after flying. Soon after the accident, the army team was sent to the accident.
Prime Minister Modi has spoken to Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu and inquired about the Air India aircraft accident in Ahmedabad.
The Civil Aviation Minister told the Prime Minister that he himself was going to Ahmedabad to monitor rescue and relief operations. Prime Minister Modi has directed the Union Minister to provide all necessary assistance immediately. Apart from this, all the concerned agencies in Ahmedabad have been kept on high alert. Coordinated efforts are on for relief and rescue.
Officials of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA) said in the official information that the activities at the airport have been postponed at the time after the Air India aircraft crashed. All flight operations have been temporarily suspended until next notice.
