New Delhi, 12 June (IANS). Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran has announced a help of Rs 1 crore on Thursday for the families of those killed in the crash of flight AI 171 from Air India to London from Air India.
In a statement issued by the Tata Group, Chandrashekaran said that the Tata Group will bear the medical expenses of all the injured in the accident. It will also be ensured that they get necessary care and support.
The statement further stated that in addition, Tata Group BJ will also provide assistance in the construction of a medical hostel.
The Tata Group said in a social media post, “We are very sad about the tragic incident related to Air India Flight 171. The grief we are feeling can not be described in words. Our condolences and prayers are with families who have lost their loved ones and who have been injured.”
The post further wrote that we stand firm with the affected families in this difficult time.
Earlier, Chandrasekaran expressed deep grief over the plane crash, saying that the primary attention of the airline is to help all the affected people and their families.
“We are working with our full power to assist emergency response teams at the scene and provide all necessary help and care to the affected people,” he said in a statement.
Air India flight AI 171 crashed from Ahmedabad to London. There were 242 people in it.
After the accident, Air India has released the emergency helpline number 1800 5691 444 for AI-171.
Air India said on the social media handle ‘X’, “Flight AI 171 was going from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick. Today has been an accident on 12 June. We are currently investigating the details and will share more information on our social media platform ‘X’ and Air India website in this matter.”
