The Congress on Friday claimed that after the Ahmedabad aircraft accident, Home Minister Amit Shah made a ‘insensitive’ comment, while he should have promised to decide the accountability. Shah had reached Ahmedabad a few hours after the plane crash and said that the temperature of the crashed Air India aircraft was so high due to fuel burning that there was no scope to save anyone.
Pawan Kheda, the head of the Congress media department, shared a brief video of Shah’s statement on ‘X’ and claimed that Shah made a statement that “no one can stop the accidents”. Reporting his post, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said, “Should the Union Home Minister now say the same? It is extremely insensitive. ”There has been no response from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the claim of the Congress.
Kheda said, “When an aircraft crashed and people died, the Home Minister can at least promise accountability, not give lectures on luck.”
He questioned, “If nothing can be stopped, then why do we have ministry? He said,” Aviation accidents are not divine acts – they can be stopped. That is why we have systems of aviation regulatory, security protocols and times of crisis. “The Congress leader said that according to the argument of the Home Minister,” Do we should completely stop investing in security infrastructure, regulation, or preparation of crisis “? He questioned whether it should be left to fate?
