Paris, 14 June (IANS). Health officials in France have registered a case of the first locally broadcast of this year. Chikungunya is a disease spread by mosquito bites.
According to the news agency Xinhua, the Regional Health Agency (ARS) of Provence-Alps-Kot The’ Azure (PACA) said that the first case of Chikungunya was found in La Crowe, a city in the southern area of France.
ARS said, “A case is said to be ‘local’ when a person has the disease inside the country and he has not traveled to an infected area 15 days before the start of symptoms.”
If the case of Chikungunya is not related to travel, it means that mosquitoes that spread this virus are present inside the country.
After the cases came to light, the health officers of the area are investigating from house to house to find out if any person has signs of chikungunya.
“Necessary steps are being taken to prevent the disease from spreading,” ARS said.
Chikungunya’s outbreak on the La Runion Island located outside France has increased considerably. According to official data, 53,749 people have been infected with the disease on the island since the beginning of this year and 23 people have died.
In view of this, the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recently issued a travel -related advice in many countries due to the outbreak of chikungunya. These include Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Myot, Reunion, Somalia and Sri Lanka.
The CDC said, “Some symptoms develop in most people infected with Chikungunya virus. You can avoid this disease by protecting yourself from mosquito bites. Use pesticides for this, wear long -sleeved shirts and pants, and stay in places where air conditioning or forged on windows and doors.”
The CDC has also advised passengers to get vaccinated in the circulation of chikungunya disease.
Chikungunya is a viral disease that spreads to humans by mosquito bites. Symptoms include high fever, joints and muscles pain, fatigue, headache and rash on the body.
