The four Naxalites killed in Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh had a total reward of Rs 56 lakh and he was named in more than 100 criminal cases. The police gave this information on Sunday.
Four people, including three women, were killed on Saturday in a campaign by Anti-Naxal Hawk Force of Madhya Pradesh, CRPF and its special cobra unit and Balaghat Police in Pachma Dadar-Katzhiriya forest area under Sonewani Chowki of Rupjhar police station.
A statement issued by the Balaghat police said that these four people were the “regional committee member” of the GRB (Gadchiruli-Rajanandgaon-Balaghat) of the banned Maoist movement.
The statement said, “Rita alias Tubbi, wife of Chandu alias Devchand, Srirangu Hidami, was a native of Navejhari in Korchi tehsil of Maharashtra. She was wanted in 56 cases in Madhya Pradesh and had a reward of Rs 14 lakhs. Tulsi alias Vimala alias Imla was included in 13 cases, while Suman was involved in 10 cases.
The statement said, “The fourth criminal Ravi was a resident of Western Bastar in Chhattisgarh and wanted in 23 cases in Madhya Pradesh. He also had a reward of Rs 14 lakh on his head.” It was also told that a search operation is going on at the encounter site.
Balaghat is a Maoist affected district bordering Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. According to the police, a grenade launcher, a self-loading rifle (SLR), two .315 bore rifles, other weapons and materials were recovered from the scene.
