New Delhi. The central government has issued a notification for the census today. First, census will be done in inaccessible states of the country. After this, census work will be done in the rest of the country. This time the caste of people will also be asked in the census. Full data will be recorded online. The special thing is that the census that is being done this time will also affect the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2029. The central government is intended to finish the entire census work by 31 March 2027. After this, work will be done to decide the number of Lok Sabha seats according to the population. A separate commission will be formed for this.
On the basis of population, the seats of the Lok Sabha and the state assembly are decided. Last time the census was held in 2011. Then India’s population was 121 crores. Now India’s population has crossed 140 crores. In such a situation, the number of Lok Sabha seats is also certain to increase. However, the states of South India fear that the number of Lok Sabha seats should not be reduced due to lack of increase in population in them. However, the central government has assured the states of South India that there will be no injustice to them and the number of Lok Sabha seats will be fixed on them on a Pro-Reta basis. Talking about the states of South India, there are 129 Lok Sabha seats including Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana and Tamil Nadu. At the same time, due to the high population, only two states of North India have a total of 120 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Whereas, currently there are a total of 543 seats in the Lok Sabha. It is believed that the number of Lok Sabha seats in the delimitation after the census will be close to 800.
The census was to be done in the year 2021, but due to the epidemic of Kovid i.e. Korona, the population could not be counted. Now the census work is starting in the year 2025, so the next census will be in 2035. This time the cut off date for the census has been fixed on 1 March 2027. That is, the figure of India’s population will be released on 1 March 2027. According to the information, the entire census figures will come by December 2027. After which the delimitation commission will be formed to re -decide the number of Lok Sabha seats.
