For example, if a train runs at 10 pm, then its chart will be ready at 6 pm. For this train, you can book a current ticket between 6 pm and 10 pm.

To book current tickets, you have to use IRCTC website or app. First open the IRCTC app. Log in using your credentials and then follow the steps given below.
Here, choose the station from which you want to get a ticket and the station you want to go.
Since this is a current ticket booking, the departure date should be the day you are booking tickets.
For example, today is 15 October 2024, so keep the departure date the same. After this, click on the ‘Search Train’ button.
Now the list of all available trains of the root you choose will come on your screen.
Click on your favorite class tickets VV, EC, 3AC, 3E etc.
If any current ticket is available for these trains, it will appear as curr_avbl.
Select it and fill the passenger details and pay the captcha code and pay.
Just your current ticket has been booked.
