Sharad Pawar has made a big statement amid speculation about coming with his nephew Ajit Pawar in Maharashtra. Without naming Ajit Pawar, Sharad Pawar said, “Opportunist politicians cannot be encouraged to join hands with BJP.” Sharad Pawar’s statement came at a time when both NCP factions were expected to be reunited. In fact, Sharad Pawar said in a meeting of the Nationalist Congress Party (SP) workers in Pimpri Chinchwad on Tuesday (June 17) that he is ready to take those people who follow the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Dr. BR Ambedkar. ‘Going with BJP against NCP’s ideology’- Sharad Pawar
Sharad Pawar said, ‘Now someone said that everyone should take along. There is no objection, but who is ‘everyone’? Those who believe in the ideology of Gandhi-Nehru, Phule and Ambedkar, I can take them along. However, if someone is going with the BJP for power, it is not the ideology of the Congress. Anyone can go with anyone, but going with BJP cannot be in accordance with the ideology of NCP.
‘Don’t worry about the leaders who have left the party’
The NCP SP chief further said that such opportunistic politics cannot be promoted and we should go ahead accordingly. Sharad Pawar asked the workers not to worry about the leaders who left the party and prepare for the upcoming local body elections.
It is worth noting that recently, due to frequent meetings between uncle and nephew on different occasions, the speculation of possible merger in NCP (SP) of NCP led by Ajit Pawar had intensified. However, this does not seem to happen now by Sharad Pawar’s statements.
