India-Canada dispute finally resolved! This important decision taken after the meeting of PM Modi and Mark Carney

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met his Canadian counterpart Mark Carney during the G7 Summit. It is noteworthy that this was the first face-to-face meeting between the two leaders after the recent general elections in Canada.

Subsequently, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement on Wednesday that during the meeting, the leaders confirmed the importance of India-Canada relations and agreed to take creative steps to restore stability in relations with the early withdrawal of the High Commissioners in each other’s capitals.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Carney gave both sides an opportunity to make a clear and visionary discussion on the status of India-Canada relations and the path ahead.

The leaders confirmed the importance of India-Canada on the basis of shared democratic values, respect for the rule of law and the commitment to maintain the principles of regional integrity and regional integrity.

He outlined the need to carry forward mutual respect for concerns and sensitivity, strong relationships between people and increasing economic supplements based on growing economic supplements.

In an important development, the Ministry of External Affairs announced in its statement that India and Canada have agreed to take well-planned and creative steps to restore stability in relationships, which will begin with the early return of the High Commissioners in each other’s capitals. “

Remarkable, the leaders underlined the importance of restoring senior ministerial and executive level interactions in various fields to re -establish confidence and to speed up relationships.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Carney discussed future cooperation opportunities in areas such as clean energy, digital change, artificial intelligence, LNG, food security, significant minerals, higher education, mobility and supply chain flexibility. He confirmed his shared interest in promoting an independent and open Hind-Pacific. The leaders also discussed the importance of re -starting negotiations on the Early Progress Trade Agreement (EPTA) to pave the way for the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). He agreed to hand over the task to his concerned authorities to move forward in this regard.

The leaders accepted the common progress in the G-7 summit and the common desire to work creatively on global priorities like climate action, inclusive development and sustainable development.

The Ministry of External Affairs said in its statement that the leaders underlined deep relations between the people between the two countries and agreed to take advantage of this vibrant bridge for the benefit of the two countries. They agreed to stay in touch and hoped to meet each other as soon as possible.

The positive developments had increased further tension when former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claimed that his government had “reliable allegations” of India’s involvement in the murder of Khalistani militant Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada in 2023.

India has strongly denied the allegations and described them as “Nutaka” and “inspired” and have accused Canada of replacing extremists and anti -India elements.

Subsequently, India recalled six diplomats from Canada, as Canadian officials investigating Nijjar declared them “interests of individuals”. Nijjar was shot dead outside a gurdwara on June 18, 2023 in the British Columbia.
