PM Modi and Trump’s 35 -minute conversation between Operation Sindoor, India’s stagnant stand on terrorism

There is a stir in global politics after the recent limited conflict ‘Operation Sindoor’ between India and Pakistan. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump had a first conversation over telephone, which lasted for about 35 minutes. In this conversation, the claims of terrorism, ceasefire, trade deal and trump’s mediation were clearly discussed.

India’s clear warning: The bullet will be answered from the shell

Giving information about the conversation, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that Prime Minister Modi said clearly to America that India has no greed for any trade deal. India’s fight against terrorism is for moral, strategic and global security, not part of any diplomatic bargaining. PM Modi also reiterated that India will respond to the bullet of India, and the operation vermilion is still not over. India will not compromise on terrorism, even if it is a strategic partner like America.

What is operation vermilion?

Many soldiers were killed in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April 2025. The responsibility of this attack was taken by Pakistan -based terrorist organization. After this, India started ‘Operation Sindoor’ on the night of 6 May, under which accurate attacks were carried out on terrorist bases in Pakistan. Pakistan tried to retaliate, but India thwarted them. Between 7 and 10 May, there was a limited struggle between the two countries, after which the ceasefire appealed by Pakistan. Meanwhile, former US President Donald Trump claimed that the ceasefire had his mediation, which India rejected outright.

Trump’s attempt to take a credit of ceasefire

Donald Trump made several times that he explained to India and Pakistan, ‘I will give you a lot of trade, end the war.’ The Government of India has now officially reacted to his claim. PM Modi told Trump that no trade deal was discussed between Indo-US between 7 and 10 May, nor did the US mediated for ceasefire between Indo-Pak at any level. This statement repeats India’s ‘No-Midification’ policy, under which India has always rejected the role of third party, especially in the context of Pakistan.

PM Modi invited to come to America

Donald Trump also invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to come to America in this conversation. Significantly, PM Modi arrived there to attend the G7 conference of Canada on 17 June. On the sidelines of the conference, he was scheduled to meet Trump, but the Trump returned to the US before the conference was over.

Due to this, the meeting could not be held and Trump called and talked. However, PM Modi is already going on a state visit to Croatia after Canada.

What happened in a 35-minute call?

India’s stance on terrorism – the struggle against terrorism will continue without an unconditional and unscrupulous deal.

Trump’s claim on ceasefire dismisses – India said, America neither meditated nor admitted to any deal.

Operation Sindoor support – PM Modi said that the operation is still going on and India will not back down.

Future Strategy – PM Modi said that India’s primary agenda is national security and not a business deal.

Analysis: clear message of India’s foreign policy

This dialogue reveals a clear and self -sufficient attitude of India’s foreign policy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed that India will not come under any pressure or temptation, whether it is a global powerful country like America. India today plays the role of a mature nation at the strategic, diplomatic and military level, and it gives a clear message that its security policy is based on its firm policy values, not at anyone’s mercy.
