The Supreme Court has asked the Karnataka government that the film should be released. At the same time, the court has directed the state government to take legal action on any incident related to violence in the state regarding the film. With this, the case was closed. The hurdles that were in the release of the film in Karnataka are now over. This is a big relief from the Supreme Court for Kamal Haasan. Earlier, the state government had filed its reply in the Supreme Court.
On the notice of the Supreme Court, the Siddaramaiah government said in its reply that if the film is released in the state, the government will provide security to the people associated with it. On the other hand, Kamal Haasan also said in the court through his lawyer that he is satisfied with the reply of the state government and does not want to move the matter forward. Meanwhile, the Karnataka Police has issued notices to pro -Kannada groups who threatened to stop the film release. Let us tell you that actor Kamal Haasan had recently said during the promotion of his film Thug Life that Kannada language has been born from Tamil language.
After this statement by Kamal Haasan, Kannada speaking got angry with him and started demanding an apology. The Karnataka film Chamber of Commerce has announced that his film will not be allowed to be released in Karnataka until Kamal Haasan apologizes for his statement. After this, the state government banned the release of his film in the state. However, the Karnataka High Court had reprimanded Kamal Haasan and suggested apologizing to Kannada speakers.
