Chandigarh This time the monsoon will bring the moisture and positive air of greenery along with rain in Haryana. KMP Expressway, known for motion and quantity, is now developing a new character- queues of trees on both sides of the route. Haryana Environment Minister Rao Narbir Singh said what we usually believe but do not expect from the system- trees need care, they cannot be imposed only, responsibility should also be fixed.
Trees will be planted, but not just for photos!
The Environment Minister clearly said that this time this effort will not be done on paper. The responsibility of trees to be planted on both sides of the KMP Expressway will be fully of HSIDC. The forest department will plant trees, but the culture of “we will plant trees and you will see” will not work at the moment. He said that these plants will not have any responsibility, so that it can be strengthened further. The person who plants saplings, the forest department will take care of him- it will not be owned.
Neither slogans, no noise – just knocking of greenery!
Also, plantation will be done in the entire Haryana on 15 July. According to the decision taken in the meeting, greenery will be spread on the banks of 15 ponds, panchayati land, intersections of the city, in the lap of rivers and in public places. This initiative is not completely government. NGOs will be involved in colleges, schools and social organizations and the most interesting thing is that industrial houses will be tasked to plant trees at urban intersections. Their identity plaque will be put there in such a way that not only the name, but also the responsibility of the name should be clear.
No smoke on KMP, it will breathe!
Expressway KMP: Kundali-Manesar-Palwal Jahan used to echo only dust, smoke and horn, now there will also be the greenery of Neem’s shade and Gulmohar will also spread their redness. This is a task operated by government rules, no tagline. Trees will be planted and greenery will be covered in Haryana’s scorching afternoon.
Small step, big story!
Every year we celebrate Environment Day, post pictures of trees on social media throughout the day and then forget how expensive the next breath is. But when trees are really planted on the side of the expressway and a government institution says that “we will take care of it”, it becomes a social awareness by going beyond the government program.
If the promises are green, then the paths will be correct!
The simplest commitment is to grow trees, but it is most challenging to fulfill it. If the promises on the banks of KMP are really fulfilled, not only the vehicles will go there… another hope of life will also end.
