New Delhi, 20 June (IANS). The Aviation Industry Employees Guild General Secretary George Abraham on Friday demanded a CBI probe to remove two cabin crew members to explain two cabin crew members to report the technical fault in the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft by Air India.
George Abraham told the news agency that we have demanded a CBI inquiry to remove two cabin crew members as it is a very serious matter to take pressure from the job to change the statement on the aircraft. This threatens the security of the aviation sector.
We have also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a fair investigation into the matter.
Regarding the entire case, IANS, Abraham said that the slide raft was opened in manual mode due to technical fault in the aircraft door after Air India flight from Mumbai to London from Mumbai on May 14, 2024.
He further explained that the slide rafts are activated only then the aircraft is in automatic mode. The pilot and the entire cabin crew also accepted the technical fault in the aircraft in initial statements, but the statement was later converted due to the pressure of the airline’s management.
Abraham said that the management of Air India pressurized these people to change the statement to suppress the technical fault in the aircraft and both of these crew were fired from the job due to non -changing statements.
Talking to the news agency with IANS, Abraham said that in view of the seriousness of the case, both the crew complained about the case from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the government agency called both of them to Delhi and listened to the whole matter. Also said to do ‘informal investigation’. Although eight months have passed, no results have been revealed.
According to Abraham, after the Ahmedabad aircraft accident, the government and the people are focused on this issue. For this reason, we have raised it once again and wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is expected that its investigation will be intensified.
