Jaipur. Under the budget announcement 2025-26 of the Rajasthan government, the Animal Husbandry Department on Friday has issued approval to upgrade 16 first class veterinary hospitals and BVHOs of the state to multi-purpose veterinary hospitals. On this decision, Cabinet Minister of Animal Husbandry, Gopalan, Dairy and Devasthan Department Joraram Kumawat has thanked Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. He informed that the state government has also given administrative and financial approval to create a total of 167 new posts for these hospitals in addition to the earlier sanctioned posts, which will significantly increase the quality and access of veterinary services in rural areas of the state.
In the upgraded veterinary hospitals, Srimadhopur, Khandela, Losal, Chauhatan, Gudhamalani, Manihari of Pali, Jayal of Nagaur, Sangod of Kota, Sangod and Ramganjmandi, Jodhpur, Tiwarni of Jodhpur, Huda of Bhilwara, Nimgangangargarh in Chittorgarh Suratgarh and Sarada of Udaipur are included.
A total of 167 new posts have been created for the expansion of facilities in these veterinary hospitals, including Deputy Director, Senior Veterinary Officer, Veterinary Officer, Livestock Extension Officer, Livestock Inspector, Junior Assistant, Class IV Employees, Livestock Hail and X-ray technicians. Santosh Karol, Deputy Secretary, Government of Animal Husbandry Department, has issued orders to sanction an amount of one lakh rupees for each hospital for the purchase of necessary furniture and equipment in these 16 multi-purpose veterinary hospitals.
Animal Husbandry Minister Joraram Kumawat said that this step taken by the state government will prove to be relief for the cattle rearers of the state and will bring qualitative improvement in the level of livestock related services.
