New Delhi, 21 June (IANS). The Indian Coast Guard today celebrated the International Yoga Day 2025 in Delhi-NCR with great enthusiasm and gaiety. The event was attended by the Director General of Director General Paramesh Shivamani, AVSM, PTM, TM and did yoga with about 1,000 Indian Coast Guard personnel and their families.
The yoga session was led by Vandana Gupta, a yoga instructor of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Administration Academy, Mussoorie, who is also the founder of the Yoga Vandana Sansthan. His team underlined the importance of mental and physical health while guiding the methods of various Yogasanas and Pranayama.
On this occasion, the Uttar Pradesh government honored Vandana Gupta for his dedication in the field of yoga. This honor was conferred in the presence of Principal Secretary, Tourism and Culture, Mukesh Meshram and District Magistrate Manish. Other distinguished guests were also present at the ceremony.
The event not only reflects the unity of the body and mind, but also proved that yoga is a means that promotes discipline, balance and health – in the same way as the Indian Coast Guard is alert and determined in the national service.
The 11th International Yoga Day is being celebrated with enthusiasm on Saturday, including India. This time Yoga Day is emphasizing physical, mental and environmental welfare through the theme of ‘Ek Earth, Ek Health’ and Celebrity Yoga.
The Indian Coast Guard has also posted on its official ‘X’ handle regarding the Yoga Day program. He wrote, “International Yoga Day 2025 was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Delhi NCR. The program underlined the importance of physical and mental health through the practice of yoga.”
In another post, it was informed that a program was organized on a yoga day by the western region headquarters of the Indian Coast Guard. Coast Guard personnel, families and local people participated in this program.
The program was led by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and MP Shrikant Shinde. In the yoga session, various asanas, pranayama and meditation were practiced under the guidance of trained experts. The Indian Coast Guard promotes yoga as a tool of a healthy life lifestyle to deal with physical and mental stress.
