New Delhi, 22 June (IANS). Air traffic in the Middle East has faced challenges since the US has attacked Iran’s nuclear bases on Sunday.
Airlines are now avoiding flying from a large part of the airspace of the region due to increasing security concerns, which is delayed in flights, flight time is increasing and the cost is increasing.
According to the Flight Tracking Service FutureDar 24, commercial aircraft are avoiding flying over countries such as Iran, Iraq, Syria and Israel. Instead, they are adopting long routes through safe areas such as Caspian Sea, Egypt or Saudi Arabia.
Due to this change, fuel consumption is increasing and flight operations are getting expensive.
The post shared on the social media handle ‘X’ by Flightradar 24 stated, “Commercial aircraft are avoiding flying in high -risk areas after the US attacks, following the airspace sanctions implemented last week.
The situation in the Middle East region remains tense, as missiles and drone attacks are increasing. Aviation Risk Monitoring Group Safe Aerspace has warned that US attacks may increase the risk for American airlines flying near Middle East.
Although there is no direct threat to civil aircraft so far, the group said that Iran can respond by targeting American military bases or using its colleagues like Hizbullah.
Saffy Aerospeace has also warned that other Gulf countries like Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates may also increase threats.
Israeli’s chief airlines (L Al, Archia and Israare) have stopped running rescue flights to bring Israeli citizens back home. El Al Al Al Al also announced that its regular commercial flights would be suspended till at least 27 June.
