Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has made a big announcement under the social security pension scheme before the upcoming assembly elections. This increased pension will be implemented from July 2025 and 1 crore 9 lakh 69 thousand 255 will be submitted in the accounts of the beneficiaries through direct bank transfer on the 10th of every month.
Nitish Kumar wrote on the social media platform x, “I am happy to say that under the Social Security Pension Scheme, all the elderly, disabled and widow women will now get a pension of Rs 1100 instead of Rs 400 every month.” He also ensured that this amount reached the beneficiaries’ accounts on time.
The announcement came just before the Bihar assembly elections, which is likely to be done by the end of 2025. Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) is in an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), while the opposition alliance includes the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress.

Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav targeted the Nitish government and said that this announcement is an election stunt and the government is trying to hide its failures first.
