YSRCP chief and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been accused in a deadly road accident. The accident occurred allegedly when he was recently going to Rentapalla village in Palnadu district.
Guntur District Superintendent of Police S.K. Addressing a press conference late on Sunday night, Satish Kumar said that the old man, Singaiya, was taken to the hospital on receiving information about being seriously injured and injuries due to bleeding, but was declared dead by doctors.
On 18 June, Reddy went to meet a family member of a YSRCP leader who had committed suicide a year ago. Former CM’s car passed through Etukuru bypass.
Kumar said, “After analyzing various evidences, it was found that the deceased was seen under Reddy’s vehicle.”
Based on the complaint of the deceased’s wife Chili Lurdhu Mary at the local police station, a case was initially booked under Section 106 (1) (deathless death) of BNS.
Police said after analyzing CCTV footage, drone scenes and circumstantial evidence, “Police confirmed that the deceased was crushed by the former Chief Minister’s vehicle involved in the convoy.”
After this “confirmation”, the police included Section 105 (non -perception murder) and BNS Section 49 (provocation) in the case and intensified the investigation of the circumstances involved.
Kumar told reporters that other accused include Reddy’s driver Ramna Reddy, Private Assistant Nageshwar Reddy, YSRCP senior leader YV Subbaarddy, former MLA Parnee Venkataramaiah and former minister Vidadala Rajni.
Kumar said that his names have been added to the list of accused and legal action will be done as per the appropriate procedure and the implemented provisions of the law.
